It is a slow weekend for stakes action, with just one graded stake on tap across the country.

However, Michael Dempsey heads out to Gulfstream Park and Del Mar looking for a few winners, both tracks hosting a pair of stakes races:

Gulfstream Park Race 7 The Juvenile Fillies Post 3:21 ET

4 Esoteric   6-1

1 Oh Darlin   8-5

7 Stuck in Malibu   5-2

Esoteric makes her first start around two turns here. She broke her maiden in her debut going 6 ½ on the main track. Last out she was bumped coming out of the gate and came with a mild late run while wide to finish third in the Florida bred Juvenile Fillies Sprint at seven furlongs. She worked well over the fake stuff here on Nov. 12. She is by Khozan out of a Corinthian mar that has dropped three other winners including Background, a G3 winner going a mile.

Gulfstream Park Race 10 The Juvenile Post 4:54 ET

4 Anamestic   12-1

8 Souper Blessing   7-2

3 Cheerful Charlie   2-1

This race looks as if it will set up for a late runner and that is the way the surface has been playing. Anamnestic may fit that bill at a decent price. The colt has three trips at two turns and last out got up late despite the jock dropping his stick to break his maiden here. The effort was flattered when the runner up Smart Striker came back to graduate in his next outing on Oct. 30. Looks capable of moving forward off his maiden win and should see some pace in front of him here.

Del Mar Race 6 The Desi Arnaz Post 2:59 PT

1 Justique   8-5

4 Huntingcoco   7-2

6 Blessed Touch   9-5

Justique went last to first to break her maiden in her debut for the Shirreffs barn that usually does not have them fully cranked first out. Last out in the Chandelier (G2) she was away last after q tardy start and made  a mild late run to finish third in her first trip around two turns. She has worked sharply since her last outing and is going to be tough in this spot. She is a half to G1 winner Mo Town.

Del Mar Race 8 The Cary Grant Post 4:00 PT

4 Big City Lights   9-5

6 None Above the Law

5 The Chosen Vron   1-1

Big City Lights stumbled coming out of the gate, set the early fractions and could not hold off The Chosen Vron in a runner up finish going a mile in the EB Johnson. The Chosen Vron came back to win the California Flag in his next outing on turf on Oct. 16. Our top pick cuts back to seven furlongs and he wired the field two back in the Real Good Deal at the distance. The runner up Slow Down Andy came back to win the Del Mar Derby (G2) and most recently ran third in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1). The Mandella trainee could be tough if he shakes loose early in this compact field.
