We are just three months away from the first Saturday of May and the Run for the Roses and the stakes action is heating up quicker than the weather around the country.
In February we have eight Road to the Kentucky Derby points races on tap starting with two this weekend—the $250,000 Withers (G3) at Aqueduct and the $250,000 Holy Bull (G3) at Gulfstream Park.

The race drew a competitive field of 11 three-year-olds that will go 1 1/8 miles. Five in the field exit the Jerome on Jan.1 which was won by Courvoisier, who is the 9-2 third choice on the morning line.
The Chad Brown trained Early Voting is the 3-1 morning line favorite. The colt was an impressive maiden winner in his debut on Dec. 18. Constitutionlawyer, who broke his maiden in his third career start on Jan. 2 is the 7-2 second choice.

The Holy Bull at Gulfstream Park on Saturday is one of five graded stakes on an outstanding betting card. A field of nine go to the post in the 1 1/16 mile test with Derby points on the line.
The Todd Pletcher trained Mo Donegal is the 3-1 morning line favorite. The colt won the Remsen (G2) at Aqueduct on Dec. 4 in his stakes debut.
Trainer Dale Romans will saddle Giant Game (7-2) who makes his first start since running third in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) last November at Del Mar.
Among the other top Road to the Kentucky Derby points races this month include the $400,000 Risen Star at Fair Grounds (G2) on Feb. 19 and the $1 million Rebel (G2) at Oaklawn Park on Feb. 26.
