1. Robin van Persie
The new Manchester United signing was the city’s most wanted Van this summer after winning the golden boot and Player of the Year awards for Arsenal in a 30 goal season. Van Persie also provided 13 league assists in 2011/2012 and should be the perfect partner for 27-goal Wayne Rooney. Will RVP debut from the start against Everton? Vote on The Insider.
2. Sergio Aguero
Aguero top-scored for the Champions last season with 23 goals, including the winner against QPR on the final day of the season. The Argentinian will have competition from the club’s wild-cards, reconciled compatriot Carlos Tevez (4goals) and Italy’s new favourite son Mario Balotelli (13 goals; 3 red cards). You can select all three on 3strikers but Maradona’s son-in-law should have the staying power.
3. Fernando Torres
Everyone at Stamford Bridge is hoping that Torres can rediscover his Liverpool form after Didier Drogba’s move. Di Matteo has shown faith in the Spaniard by not rushing into the transfer market for a number 9; the window remains open so Torres must make a fast start. Should Fernando be a guaranteed starter? Give him a vote of confluence on The Insider.
4. Papiss Cisse
It’s hard to choose between Newcastle’s Senagalese strike duo but Cisse gets the nod after his phenomenal run of 13 goals in 12 games at the end of last season. Both Papiss and Demba Ba (16 goals) are decent shouts for goal of the season as well as the golden boot. Remember, you don’t have to stick or twist with 3strikers.
5. Luis Suarez
The Uruguayan will be out to assert his seniority over new signing and Rodger’s favourite Fabio Borini. Will Brendan select them in tandem? Have your say on The Insider. Suarez enjoyed a decent maiden season at Anfield last year with 11 league goals, and would probably have scored more had he not been banned for 8 games.
